We’ve used Simucube systems for a number of years because they give us the level of configurability we need to create custom driver setups, developed through working with our portfolio of 300+ professional drivers. Just as importantly, the reliability of the hardware means our drivers know they can depend on the system time and time again, whether for day-to-day training or high-performance preparation.
Since May 2019, we have used the Simucube 2 Sport and Pro models on our rigs to provide accurate and reliable steering feedback on our GT Sport and Formula Sport model sim racing rigs. These fully turnkey rig share the same DNA from our flagship Formula Pro and GT Pro simulators, as used by over 300 professional drivers, in a more affordable package, whilst still prioritising realism.
Recently we have adopted the new Simucube 3 series wheelbases on our Sport series models, to further promote authenticity, with feedback response being closer to a real car. For someone investing in a premium racing simulator, this is what separates an experience from a gaming setup.
This article explains why Cool Performance switched from Simucube 2 to Simucube 3 and the benefits of it.

Both Simucube 3 Sport and Pro use the same proven SPM (Surface Permanent Magnet) motor technology that defined Simucube 2. The Pro still delivers 25 Nm. The Sport delivers 15 Nm. The hardware that drives the wheel is, fundamentally, the same reliable architecture we've trusted for years.
What changed is the control algorithm. Every Simucube 3 wheelbase is individually calibrated per unit, where Simucube 2 used standard firmware across the production line. That single change shifts the character of the force feedback in a way you can feel within a few laps.
Compared to SC2, SC3 delivers a more precise feel with less noise and subtle details coming through more clearly. On a Cool Performance rig, where every component is carefully selected and fine tuned to prioritise realism, that clarity matters.

The decision to move to the 3 series wasn't about peak numbers. It was about what the driver feels.
Our development team works with professional drivers across multiple top-series racing categories to fine tune software and component behaviour that translates to real-world performance. That process only works if the wheelbase reports the car's behaviour authentically, without smoothing or interpretation. The shift to individually calibrated force feedback delivers exactly that: a cleaner, more truthful read of what the car is doing.
For serious sim racers and those seeking premium entertainment, that means a more authentic driving experience, more confidence at the limit as well as more accurate practice before track days and race weekends.

Simucube 2 runs on Simucube Tuner 2.5 and above. Simucube 3 runs on Simucube Tuner 3.1, which is a unified application that controls all Simucube Link devices from one place: wheelbase, pedals, and steering wheels. Critically, both generations are supported in the same Tuner application, so an installation running both SC2 and SC3 hardware is managed through one piece of software.
As of June 2026, Simucube have released Tuner 3.1 with Paddock, their next-generation cloud profile platform built directly into the Tuner application. The previous browser-based experience is gone: profile management, search, sharing, and account controls now live inside Tuner alongside the rest of the workflow. Profiles are private by default and can be made public with a single deliberate toggle, while sim and car tags identify the simulator and car each profile was tuned for. Featured profiles from Simucube and its partners sit alongside community uploads, giving drivers a trusted starting point.
Seeing the same commitment to innovation that Cool Performance embodies, across both software and hardware is a big part of why we love working with Simucube.

As part of the latest release of Simucube’s Link system, we are excited to explore the versatility and performance benefits it can bring to our simulator platforms. The connected ecosystem and streamlined integration align closely with our approach to simulator development, where reliability, performance, and user experience are key.
Having worked with over 300 professional drivers across GT, Formula, and esports, we understand the importance of dependable hardware and scalable systems. We are excited to see how the Simucube Link platform can support the future development of our simulator solutions.
Across our Sport range, the Simucube 3 Sport sits at Stage 2 and the Simucube 3 Pro at Stage 3 (top) hardware specifications. These choices came naturally, perfectly fitting into the performance and budget of each respective spec level.
The Sport's 15 Nm suits the driver coming into a turnkey Cool Performance simulator wanting honest, detailed force feedback at Stage 2 spec. The Pro's 25 Nm matches the driver building toward a flagship-grade experience, where every component has been chosen to support professional-level practice.
The integration of Simucube wheel bases also protects the investment. A Cool Performance rig specced with Simucube today can expand and be upgraded, without starting over. The Simucube Link Platform means future wheels, accessories, and software updates fit into the same ecosystem the rig was built around. The hardware that goes into our Sport simulators in 2026 will continue to make sense years from now.
A Cool Performance Sport series simulator with Simucube at its core isn't just a sim rig, it's a turnkey, professional-grade sim racing experience built for serious enthusiasts seeking a dedicated race training rig or premium entertainment. Hand-built in the UK. Backed by over a decade of building rigs for over 300 professional drivers across multiple top racing series. Configured around Simucube wheelbases because they deliver the level of force feedback authenticity that separates a true simulator from a gaming setup.
